The 8th edition of IFIB, the International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy, aims at strengthening the bioeconomy network in the Euro-Mediterranean area and at promoting partnerships. The focus of the Forum is biotechnology, as provider of new resources for industries.

The Forum will consist of two days of debates and information exchange, with sessions and round tables on bio-based industries, agro-food, energy, environment policies on industrial biotech and bioeconomy, featuring international speakers from key sectors. The workshop will also include sessions on investments and clusters.

IFIB is organized by Assobiotec, the Italian Association for the development of biotechnology, which is part of the national Federation of Chemical Industry (Federchimica), together with Innovhub-SSI, the Italian Green Chemistry Cluster SPRING, Regione Piemonte and the University of Turin.

Philippe Mengal, Executive Director of BBI JU, will participate in the panel on "Financing the Bioeconomy", with a presentation on BBI JU's impact in building a sustainable EU bio-based industry sector.
