BioEconomyUtrecht2016, the fourth BioEconomy Stakeholders’ Conference, will be held on 12 & 13 April 2016 at Rabo Nederland in Utrecht, the Netherlands under the auspices of the Dutch EU Presidency.
This high – level European meeting is co-organised by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and by the European Commission. The conference is a part of the European Bioeconomy Strategy and Action Plan, and serves as an important input to the future orientation of the European Bioeconomy Strategy. The aim of the fourth Bioeconomy stakeholders conference, BioEconomy Utrecht 2016, is to detect the needs of the European BioEconomy. How can we together, bring the BioEconomy forward?
The first will set the scene. Interesting speakers and successful Dutch entrepreneurs will inspire you. On the second day, stakeholders from business, civil society and public authorities are invited to share their experiences and ideas in the BioEconomy. BBI JU's Executive Director, Philippe Mengal will particpate in a debate about the organisation of future govenrnance of the Bioeconomy, chaired by Aldo Longo (Director, Agriculture and Rural Development, DG Agriculture and Rural Development).
The results of previous high-level events, in particular the SCAR Foresight Conference, the Bioeconomy Investment Summit and the Global Bioeconomy Summit, will converge in a ‘Stakeholders’ Manifesto for the Bioeconomy in Europe’:A strategic agenda and a shared commitment to shape the bioeconomy through collaboration and dialogue. These two days in Utrecht, at Rabobank headquarters, will result in a new Manifesto on the European BioEconomy.
